A Call for Self-Identifed Indigenous Artists View in browser

TCMoFA presents: the 2024 Coast Salish Museum of Fine Arts

Hello,

This October, the Thurston County Museum of Fine Arts will present the second annual Coast Salish Museum of Fine Arts (CSMoFA).

In honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, our fall exhibition will exclusively feature self-identified Indigenous artists at our temporary museum pop up. This is a juried show curated by a panel of Indigenous artists with the goal of celebrating art created by self-identified Indigenous people. The museum takes place on traditionally Squaxin, Nisqually, and Cowlitz land in the Salish Sea region of Turtle Island.

This show will take place on October 4th and 5th during the Olympia Arts Walk and from October 12th through the 14th in celebration of Indigenous People’s Day.

All artists participating in the show will be offered an honorarium of $200 to assist in offsetting the costs associated with participation in the show.

We encourage artists interested in participating to apply on our website at https://www.tcmofa.org/submissions

We welcome submissions from Indigenous artists working in all mediums. From individuals and groups working in contemporary art to those practicing traditional crafts, performance art, music, and more. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions. This call for artists will remain open until Sunday, September 8th.

In order to reach as many people as possible, we’d appreciate it if you helped spread the word by sharing this call for artists within your networks of family, friends, colleagues and social media.

Thank you for your time and take care of yourself,
